Incline

Incline and Decline Push Ups are another way to modify Push Ups making them easier or more difficult. The difference you will find here is in how the exercise is named or referred to. Some say Decline when the feet are raised and some say Deline when the hands are raised and the same goes for the Incline variation. It just depends on who is describing the exercise.

This is how I describe it:

Incline Push Ups are done when the feet are place in an elevated position, like on a bench, box or chair. I refer to this as an Incline Push Up because it mimics an incline press using the same muscle groups.

Decline Push Ups are done when the hands are placed in an elevated position, like on a bench, box or rail. I refer to this as an Decline Push Up because it mimics a decline press using the same muscle groups.

Both Incline and Decline Variations can be done using all the modifications mentioned above like hands wide or hands narrow or on the knees.
