Print this exercise

Pike Push Ups are a Push Up version of an overhead press. Make sure overhead pressing is acceptable for you by checking with your doctor first.

Get into the Push Up Position. Bending at the waist, push you butt up so that your hips are flexed almost to 90 degrees. With you hands a little further in front of you than a normal Push Up, begin by lowering you head toward the floor by flexing at the elbows and shoulders. Continue as low as you can. Push yourself back to the arms extended positions maintaining your hips flexed position. You can start the next repetition by lower yourself back down. You may modify this exercise by going down to the knees.

Pike Push Ups (presses) are a good exercise for kids

The Pike Push Ups is a great exercise for the kids. Like all Push Ups, they may take some time to learn properly. Begin by modifying on the knees.
